We had the oddest experience with Woody the other night. Andrew woke me up at 2:00 am to tell me Woody was growling. He was on the floor on Andrew's side of the bed. His whole face looked different, he was growling and when he saw me he barked. We were so frightened we picked Maxie up and put him in the bathroom -- we were afraid Woody would lunge at him.
I asked Andrew to call Animal 911 -- I wasn't sure if he was sick. While Andrew was on the phone I went back into the room to find him up, wagging his tail and completely back to "normal".
We are going to take him to the vet. Could have been a seizure. Could be a behavior issue. :( Poor little guy. I feel so badly for him. I've been giving him lots of cuddles.
Wow! How scary/freaky/weird that must have been. I'm glad you came back to find him in a normal state. When are you going to the vet?
ReplyDeleteCould he have been having a nightmare? Seriously, it reminds me of a time when Katie was about 3 she experienced a night terror where she appeared to be away but was not and was totally inconsolably crying and wailing (for lack of a better word). I thought we were going to have to take her to the hospital..it was so bizarre. Then she came out of it...i.e. woke up for real.. and has been pretty normal ever since. :)
BTW...I didn't know there was such a thing as Animal 911. Wow.
I don't know how to edit my comment but I meant she appeared to be AWAKE not away....
ReplyDeleteI got it! Away...awake...what's the dif? Part of me wants to believe it's a dream but he's aggressive around his bed/sleep issues. That was by far the worst I've ever seen him so I don't know. He's been a loverboy ever since so I'm hoping it wasn't a big deal.
ReplyDeletePoor Katie! That must have been scary.
